Wayne Knight - Executive Director, HMI

With more than 33 years of ranching experience using Holistic Management, Wayne Knight brings a rare blend of humility, hard‑earned insight, and deep ecological understanding. His journey has taken him from calling himself a cattle rancher, to a grass farmer, to—eventually—a soil‑microbe farmer, reflecting a lifetime of learning from the land itself. Through every identity shift, one thing has remained constant: he has always marketed beef, but he manages for life in the soil.

Today, Wayne brings his global experience and grounded, practical wisdom to producers navigating real‑world challenges—especially drought. His teaching is rooted in lived experience, ecological literacy, and a deep respect for the people who steward the land.

He has been deeply involved in regenerative grazing management for over 20 years and has been with Dixon for over 15 years. We’re grateful for your trust, your vision, and your unwavering dedication to healthier land, healthier food, and healthier lives. Thank you for walking alongside us in this work and for helping producers see what regenerative management can truly achieve.
